will attempt to reschedule and classes that are cancelled. If a class is unable to meet

Knitting and Crochet
| General Knitting This is the class that you can work on any project that you have at your own pace and have all of your questions answered. This class meets the first and third Wednesdays for 3 months. Class Dates: Wed nights: 9/1,15,10/2, 20,11/3,17 7-9 pm or Sunday afternoons: 9/12, 26, 10/10, 31, 11/7 &21 130-330 pm Cost: $60 |

| Not Just Learn to Knit but Knitting Skills Series We want you to learn good skills as knitters, not just how to make stitches; therefore we are introducing the Knitting Skills series. These three classes are created with a specific progression of skills that will allow participants the opportunity to become confident knitters. We recommend that you pay particular attention to prerequisites for each class and that new knitters take all three classes in order although each class can be purchased individually. For skill seekers, 102 and 103 may help you achieve some new goals or tackle your next project with increased understanding. Knitting 101: Prerequisite: Enthusiasm and a desire to learn Skills: Long tail cast on, knit, purl, stockingette stitch, rib, and casting off Class Dates: 8/5 &12 7-9pm or 9/4 &112-4pm or 9/19 &262-4pm, 10/14 &217-9pm or 11/6&13 2-4pm or 12/4 &11 2-4 pm Cost: $20 Knitting 102: Prerequisites: All skills from knitting 101 Skills: Gauge, knitting in the round, DPNs, pattern reading, simple colorwork, picking up stitches, slip stitches, cabling, decreasing measuring for fit. Homework: The following should be completed prior to first class: Make a stockingette stitch swatch by knitting every row. This can be done by CO 20 stitches, knit these stitches carry the yarn across the back of the swatch and slide your stitches back to the left needle at the end of every row. Class Dates: 8/1,8,15 2-4 pm or 10/2,9,16 2-4 pm or 12/5,12,19 2-4 pm Cost: $30 Knitting 103: Prerequisite: All skills from knitting 101 and 102 Skills: More Gauge, More pattern reading, Increasing and decreasing stitches, garment assembly and fit. You will knit a sweater in this class. Class Dates: 9/18,10/2,16, 30 2-4 pm Cost: $40 Materials for each class in the series should be purchased at Gate City Yarns and should be obtained prior to the first class meeting. Save $10 on the cost of the series if you purchase the series all at once. |
